The Head of Finance will supervise all financial tasks of the company and ensure we use capital and resources beneficially, he/she will reports on costs, productivity, margins and company expenditures.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for working with senior management to develop financial strategies for the organization, should be comfortable handling large amounts of data, acting as a business partner, decision maker, and providing regular financial reporting. Head of Finance responsibilities include creating and forecasting models.
Responsibilities
Plan, control, monitor finances and ensure adherence to statutory requirements, asses financial risk and strive for operational efficiencies within the organization.
Implement the policy & procedures relating to financial management, accounting and budget planning and to improve the quality of Church operations
Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual statements (balance sheets and income statements)
Ensure timely and accurate submission of all relevant tax returns, including but not limited
to Income Tax, VAT and Employment Taxes.
Ensure timely and robust financial reporting of the Finance Function for monthly management accounts, budgets, re-forecasts, cash flow, Organize internal audits and other requests
Advise and update management on irregularities in any financial matters
Provide creative alternatives and recommendations to reduce costs and improve financial performance
Conduct detailed risk analyses to assess potential investment and analyze financial trends
Maintain and administer internal control and compliance policy ensuring that all key risks are covered by appropriate rules and that line management have an effective system in place to identify, monitor and measures risks management.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or any related discipline with 5 - 7 years of relevant experience
Professional qualifications like (ICAN, ACA) is required
IT proficiency with Advanced Excel skill and the ability to use accounting software
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong numerical abilities.
Thorough knowledge of accounting procedures, taxation and principles
Sound business knowledge and ability to explain complex financial information in a clear way
Organizational skills with the ability to work under pressure within the deadlines.
