Job Description



  • The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring effective and efficient management of the company's financial resources and ensuring that all the goals and objectives set by the Board of Directors for the business are achieved.


Responsibilities



  • Develop and manage all accounting operations and procedures

  • Collect, analyze and summarize account information

  • Develop periodic financial reports for management

  • Do a regular Financial auditing

  • Identify bottlenecks and suggest solution

  • Manage budget and create detailed financial forecasts

  • Managing all Tax related issues,advice and ensure that the company complies with periodic tax payments, information reporting, and other statutory and regulatory tax requirements

  • Track Invoices, bank deposits due for payments

  • Oversee credit and treasury management activities, or collaborate with responsible officers where applicable

  • Identify and deploy cost-saving initiatives.

  • Develop and implement cost control/ management strategies and systems to ensure optimal utilization of available financial resources.

  • Keep abreast of changes in the industry, financial regulations, and legislation; ascertain implications for the business and advice management accordingly

  • Liaise with external financial services organizations, and investors as may be required, to ensure the business remains adequately funded in terms of Debt, Equity, and Working Capital requirements.

  • Provide and interpret financial information for practical application, to guide operations across departments and the organization.

  • Manage the company’s accounting systems and procedures, and ensure they are up-to-date and in compliance with all applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.

  • Coordinate the preparation of financial statements; review and ensure accuracy of accounting records; ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.

  • Maintain a robust system of accounting control.

  • Managing records and receipts.

  • Willingness to travel.


Qualifications



  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Accounting, Finance, or a Business discipline (Minimum of Second Class division)

  • Professional accounting certification

  • Certified Financial Analyst

  • Minimum of 5 years post qualification experience, with at least 3 years in a management role

  • Knowledge of the technicalities of the E&P; sector would be an added advantage

  • An MBA or business-related postgraduate degree would be an added advantage

  • The finance officer needs to know how to use any of the following accounting software listed or any other accounting software.
