Job Summary:
You will be responsible for the management and reporting of financial data of our organization, preparing financial statements, examining and analyzing our company’s accounts and ensuring compliance with financial reporting and other standard accounting procedures.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Preparing invoices and sending them to clients
- Cross-checking invoices with payments and expenses to ensure accuracy
- Managing account payable and receivable
- Verify, allocate, post and reconcile transactions
- Track organization’s expenses
- Handle the petty cash process and process refunds
- Ensure proper documentation and remittance of statutory payments
- Document all financial transactions in an organized manner
- Recommend financial actions by analyzing account trends
- Summarize current financial status by collating information, preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement and other reports
- Substantiate financial transactions by auditing documents
- Maintain accounting controls and document business processes by preparing and recommending policies and procedures
- Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information
- Secure financial information by completing database backups
- Create error-free accounting reports and present accordingly
- Analyze financial information and summarize financial status modifications to accounting systems and generally accepted accounting procedures
- Participate in financial standard setting, forecast and budgeting process
- Provide technical support and advice to management
- Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and generally accepted accounting practices
- Manage internal and external audits to ensure compliance
- Support month-end and year-end closing process
- Communicate efficiently with Clients, foster strong client relationship through positive interactions.
- Timely communication with Manager/Director on work status and client issues that arises
What are you bringing to the role?
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience on the same role
- A minimum of HND or bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Banking and Finance
- Master’s degree will be an advantage
- An added advantage if you are a chartered accountant (ICAN or ACCA certification)
- Adept knowledge of computer (laptop) and Microsoft suite
- Attention to details and excellent efficiency of handling accounting issues
- Critical reasoning and an ability to be proactive
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Super organizational skills for maintaining clear, accurate and meticulous financial records
