MAIN MISSION
The Finance Manager ensure the account and financial management of Nigeria mission , while complying with the rules of the mission, the local context, local legislation, donors’ rules and the MdM policies and values. S/he leads a team and/or support partners, providing technical support to operational staff financial management of the mission
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage the mission's monthly, semi-annual and annual accounting closing process
- Monitor the implementation of the financial and cash management procedures of the mission and/or partners
- Ensure compliance of the mission's accounting documents
- Communicate, advise and provide support to teams (MdM or partners) in understanding the financial framework. Provide technical support to operational staff, on-site financial staff and/or partners
- Contribute to the development of the framework, procedures and tools. Suggest adjustments to processes and tools
- Provide technical supervision, capacity building, training and support for teams (MdM and partners) in the specialist area
- Consolidate, control and communicate accounting related information
- Integrate headquarters’ costs
- Check allocations (accounting and budget codes)
- Alert operational staff and line managers to any discrepancies in consumption and financial risks
- SAGA configurations
- Supervise cash management for the entire mission (cash flow, banks, internal transfers, etc.)
- Participate in writing donor reports, funding requests, amendments
- Contribute to audit management (prepare documents, respond to auditors, follow-up recommendations, etc.)
- Monitor the legal and fiscal framework
- Supervise the archiving of accounting and financial documents
- Depending on the organisation of the mission, may be required to perform the tasks of administrative officer for the base/capital (bookkeeping, monthly closing, paying suppliers, administrative management, etc.)
- Draft activity reports
Management
- Plan and monitor activities and implement corrective action where necessary
- Advise, arbitrate, and support measures to be taken in the event of difficulties, malfunctions and incidents
MAIN SKILS
- Master accounting and financial procedures (MdM and donors)
- Summarise and communicate/submit on the financial and accounting management procedures of MdM and donors
- Understand and interpret a legal and fiscal framework
- Ability to use Excel and the Microsoft Office Pack
- Ability to use field accounting software (SAGA)
- Analyse significant discrepancies between forecasts and actual records, interpret them, contextualise them (“make the numbers talk”), identify the causes and risks, report
- Analyse and communicate accounting and budgetary information
- Read, construct and analyse a budget and carry out budget monitoring
- Share professional expertise
- Support teams (MdM and partners) identify training needs, train
- Organise the priorities of the relevant activities, adapt planning according to priorities and hazards

REQUIRED QUALIFICATION
- Bachelors level qualification in Finance, Economics or Business
- At least 3 years of relevant experience
- Experience of managing staff
- Experience with NGO highly desired
The Basic Salary is #456,000
