Key Responsibilities:



  • Maintain financial and accounting system and reporting as guided by the organization Finance and guidance/policies

  • Conduct a thorough review of invoices and payments to ensure compliance with evidence and adherence to Donor’s procedures.

  • Perform periodic reviews and expenditures analysis, certifying the accuracy of the project general ledger, cash book, trial balance, and other relevant reports.

  • Monitor and track Accounts Receivable (A/R) for all program staff, ensuring timely settlement of all cash advances.

  • Coordinate and meticulously review the accuracy of accounting entries, ensuring completion within specified timelines to facilitate timely monthly/quarterly donor and management reporting.

  • Review and approve bank reconciliations, as well as reconciliations of petty cash and fund reports at the time of replenishment.

  • Oversee the submission of all tax withholdings (payroll income tax, deduction at source) to relevant parties.

  • Play an active role in the capacity building of both finance and non-finance staff.

  • Prepare for and facilitate external/internal audits, as deemed appropriate in consultation with the internal auditor, and respond to any audit queries.

  • Contribute to the knowledge management process by providing accurate, informed, and timely professional advice to the organization's management.

  • Develop and design tools or implement a system to support finance staff in the day-to-day follow-up of program advances, asset management, and ensure accurate tracking and reconciliation.


Requirements:



  • Possession of a university degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.

  • A minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in program finance management.

  • In-depth industry knowledge regarding best practices, policies, and current regulations in accounting.

  • Additional certifications in accounting such as ICAN or ACCA.

  • Previous professional engagement with international donor programs.

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.

  • Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills.

  • Proficient communication skills, both clear and effective.

  • Fluency in English is a prerequisite.

  • Excellent proficiency in MS Excel and adeptness in using accounting software (QuickBooks & ERP).

  • Sound knowledge of bookkeeping and adherence to accounting reporting standards.

  • Strong analytical and mathematical aptitude.
