JOB PURPOSE/SUMMARY



  • The Finance Manager will be responsible for overseeing the financial strategy and management of Bluebrain Services Limited.

  • He/She will play a crucial role in shaping the financial direction of the organization.

  • The role entails managing risk and overseeing financial reporting. This role is pivotal in steering financial stability and fostering growth through financial strategic decision making.


JOB TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Providing financial direction, planning, and accounting.

  • Using appropriate forecasting tools, ensures that adequate measures are factored to achieve business objectives.

  • Reviewing working capital/cash flow requirement on a regular basis.

  • Monitoring banking activities for the Company for proper running and ensure regular reconciliations of all banking transactions with the cash books. Budgeting and Financial Forecast.

  • Developing plans, budgets, forecasts, and financial results to guide management decisions by forecasting requirements, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions.

  • Presenting operating and capital expenditure budgets for review and approval.

  • Financial Analysis & Interpretation.

  • Monitoring financial performance by measuring and analyzing results, initiating corrective actions; and minimizing the impact of variances.

  • Managing relationships with regulatory and statutory bodies, i.e. NAICOM, FIRS, Internal Revenue Service, etc. Internal Control & Monitoring.

  • Ensuring adequate controls are installed and maintained to cover all financial transactions, including safeguarding financial assets.

  • Supervising the preparation of quarterly and annual account reconciliations, monitor and enforce compliance with tax and financial reporting standards and assist with cash flow forecasting.

  • Advising the management on decisions related to the company’s finances.

  • Supervising the documentation of the company’s financial status and forecasts.

  • Mediate between the management and the board on financial issues for amicable resolution of differences.

  • Creating strategic business plans based on the analysis of the company’s status and financial forecasts.


QUALIFICATIONS AND TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES



  • First degree in Accounting, Finance Administration, or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience

  • Professional accounting/finance e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CFA, ICAN

  • An MBA or business-related postgraduate degree would be an added advantage.

  • 6 years of experience in finance, with at least 5 years in a management-level role.


PERSONAL/BEHAVIOURAL CHARACTERISTICS



  • Experience managing finance in a consulting outfit would be an added advantage.

  • Knowledge of audit and tax will be an added advantage.

  • Experience in managing profitability and cost management, and tax and regulatory policy.

  • Experience using office computer programs like spreadsheets, databases, and word processing software.

  • Knowledge of account and finance framework and principles

  • Accounting Knowledge (IFRS etc.)

  • Budgeting & Forecasting Knowledge

  • Internal Controls

  • Knowledge of Risk Management

  • External Financial & Regulatory Reporting Knowledge
