Responsibilities


About the role



  • We are looking for a Finance Manager to be responsible for monitoring the country resource management and will identify risks or issues to the Country Director.

  • You will oversee/supervise the NCO finance team and the financial monitoring, audit, risk and compliance for all Sightsavers funded projects and partners at the country level.


Skills and Experience



  • This is an ideal opportunity for a Financial professional with extensive experience within a similar role, ideally within an INGO environment.

  • You will be responsible for all finance-related activity for the Country Office and should have experience of this level of responsibility.

Essential



  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting or relevant professional accounting qualification.

  • Extensive and demonstrable experience of financial management, programme and project management and administration, ideally in an INGO environment but experience of audit and government organization would also be an considered.

  • Extensive and demonstrable experience within a position of similar responsibility, ideally within an INGO.

  • Available and able to travel extensively, nationally and internationally. Likely to be once a month for 1-5 nights.

  • Excellent financial and resource management skills.

  • Excellent project management and data analysis skills

  • Ability to influence high-level government officials and NGO leaders.

  • Ability to build strong working relationships to enable effective management of partnerships and work collaboratively as part of a global team.

  • Proven ability to think strategically and translate concepts into effective action plans.

  • Excellent presentation skills.

  • Ability to represent Sightsavers with key external stakeholders.

  • Excellent communication skills (both oral & written)

  • Ability to work with minimum supervision.

  • Ability to deliver group training sessions.

  • People management skills with a strong diplomatic understanding of culturally and ethnically sensitive issues.

  • An understanding of and commitment to equality of opportunity for persons with disabilities.


Desirable



  • Masters Degree in a relevant area (e.g. Finance, Business Administration)

  • Experience of audit and government organisation
