We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Cybersecurity Instructor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cybersecurity, hands-on experience with relevant tools and technologies, and a passion for teaching and mentoring students.
Responsibilities
Develop and deliver engaging lectures, labs, and workshops on various cybersecurity topics, including but not limited to:
Network security fundamentals
Cyber threat intelligence
Ethical hacking and penetration testing
Cryptography and encryption techniques
Security policies and compliance
Create and update course materials, including slides, demos, and hands-on exercises, to ensure relevance and effectiveness.
Provide guidance and support to students through office hours, online forums, and one-on-one interactions.
Design and evaluate student assessments, such as exams, projects, and capture-the-flag competitions, to measure learning outcomes.
Stay current with emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and best practices in cybersecurity, incorporating relevant updates into course content.
Collaborate with other instructors and staff to continuously improve the curriculum and learning experience.
Participate in outreach and recruitment activities to attract and retain students, including webinars, conferences, and networking events.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in cybersecurity, with a focus on offensive or defensive security techniques.
Hands-on experience with cybersecurity tools and technologies, such as:
Intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS)
Security information and event management (SIEM) platforms
Vulnerability assessment and penetration testing tools (e.g., Metasploit, Nmap)
Encryption protocols and algorithms
Industry certifications such as CISSP, CEH, CompTIA Security+, or GIAC are highly desirable.
Prior teaching or training experience, either in a classroom or corporate setting, is a plus.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts in a clear and understandable manner.
Enthusiasm for learning and teaching, with a genuine desire to mentor and empower students to succeed in their cybersecurity careers.
