The Finance and Tax Officer is responsible for ensuring PayU’s compliance with Nigerian tax regulations.
This includes an overview of tax documents provided by Tax Advisory Provider and maintaining a filing system for tax-related records.
They will collaborate closely with the Global Finance department on various tasks such as accounts closure, budgeting, and financial reporting.
They act as the company's representative in tax-related meetings and keep all departments informed of any tax law updates.
What You Will Be Doing
Collaborate with the local team to ensure smooth financial operations.
Collaborate closely with the Regional Finance Team.
Provide training and support to team members on financial procedures and policies.
Participate in financial budgeting process.
Stay updated with local finance regulations, advising management on their implications.
Ensure adherence to financial policies, procedures, and controls.
Support the finance team in the monthly/annual accounts closure, including bank reconciliations and submission of timely and accurate reports.
Active participation in audits.
Monitors budgets and expenditures and contributes to preparation of budgets.
Ensure supervision over compliance with all Nigerian tax regulations, including VAT, PAYE, Corporate Tax, and other relevant taxes.
Liaise with local tax provider and tax authorities for audits, queries, and resolutions.
Stay updated with changes in tax laws and regulations, advising management on their implications.
What are we looking for?
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Management, Business, Economics, Public Administration, or related field.
Minimum of 3 - 5 years of relevant experience with International Company – preferable Fintech or Payment .
High attention to details and excellent analytical skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills, must be capable of working both individually and as part of a team, be able to create a supportive working relationship among all project teams.
