Job Summary:



  • This is a full-time on-site role for a Finance Officer located in Lagos.

  • The Finance Officer (Payables) is responsible for managing the company's accounts payable function, ensuring timely and accurate payment of invoices, maintaining vendor relationships, and implementing effective internal controls.

  • This role plays a crucial part in the company's financial operations and cash flow management.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Process and review invoices for accuracy, proper authorization, and compliance with company policies and procedures

  • Manage the timely payment of vendor invoices within set terms

  • Maintain detailed and organized records of all payables transactions and supporting documentation

  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies or disputes

  • Provide reports on accounts payable, cash flow, and other relevant metrics to management

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements and other financial reports

  • Collaborate with the procurement team to ensure proper documentation and approvals for new vendors

  • Implement and maintain effective internal controls and segregation of duties for the accounts payable function

  • Stay up-to-date with changes in accounting regulations, tax laws, and best practices related to accounts payable

  • Provide training and guidance to the accounts payable team to ensure consistency and efficiency

  • Perform other finance-related duties as assigned


Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

  • 3-5 years of experience in accounts payable or finance operations

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work with numbers accurately

  • Proficient in using accounting software and spreadsheet applications

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with vendors and cross-functional teams

  • Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work well under pressure

  • Knowledge of accounts payable best practices, internal controls, and regulatory compliance

  • Certified Accounts Payable Professional (CAPP) certification is preferred

  • Experience in the F&B or hospitality industry is a plus
