Job Overview



  • The Finance Director will be responsible for overseeing all financial operations and activities of the manufacturing company. This role includes managing the financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and analysis functions.

  • The Finance Director will also be tasked with ensuring the company’s financial health and compliance with all relevant laws and regulations. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in financial management within the manufacturing industry, with a strong understanding of cost accounting, financial reporting, and strategic financial planning.


Key Responsibilities

Strategic Financial Leadership:



  • Develop and implement financial strategies that align with the company’s goals and objectives.

  • Provide strategic recommendations to the CEO and executive management team on financial matters, including growth opportunities, cost managementand profitability improvement


Financial Planning and Analysis:



  • Lead the financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes, ensuring accuracy and alignment with business objectives.

  • Analyze financial performance and provide insights to guide decision-making, focusing on profitability, cost control and efficiency.

  • Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets and cash flow statements.


Financial Operations Management:



  • Oversee the day-to-day financial operations of the company, including accounting, payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.

  • Ensure robust financial controls are in place to safeguard company assets and maintain the integrity of financial records.

  • Manage the cash flow of the company, ensuring sufficient liquidity to meet operational needs and growth initiatives.


Cost Accounting and Control:



  • Implement and oversee cost accounting systems to track manufacturing costs, including labor, materials, and overhead.

  • Conduct variance analysis and identify areas for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.

  • Work closely with production and operations teams to ensure accurate cost allocations and pricing strategies.


Risk Management and Compliance:



  • Identify and manage financial risks, including currency, interest rate, and credit risks.

  • Ensure compliance with all financial regulations, accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP), and tax laws.

  • Liaise with external auditors, tax authorities, and other regulatory bodies as required


Team Leadership and Development:



  • Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.

  • Ensure the finance team is equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to support the company’s financial objectives.


Capital Management:



  • Manage relationships with banks, investors and other financial stakeholders.

  • Oversee capital structure and financing strategies, including debt management and equity financing.

  • Evaluate and recommend investment opportunities, capital expenditures and asset management strategies.


Technology and Systems Integration:



  • Oversee the implementation and maintenance of financial systems and software, ensuring they meet the company’s needs.

  • Drive the adoption of technology to improve financial processes, reporting and decision-making.


Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):



  • Achievement of financial targets (e.g., revenue growth, profit margins, cost reduction).

  • Accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting.

  • Effective management of cash flow and working capital.

  • Compliance with financial regulations and audit requirements.

  • Employee engagement and development within the finance team.


Qualifications

Education:



  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. A Master’s degree (e.g., MBA) or professional qualifications such as ICAN, ACCAor CFA is highly desirable.


Experience:



  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive financial management experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role within the manufacturing industry.

  • Strong experience in cost accounting, financial reporting, and strategic planning.

  • Proven track record of leading financial teams and driving financial performance improvement


Skills and Competencies:



  • In-depth knowledge of financial regulations, accounting standards, and tax laws.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.

  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.

  • Proficiency in financial management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.

  • High level of integrity and ethical standards.


Working Conditions



  • Full-time position based at the company’s headquarters.

  • Occasional travel may be required for meetings with stakeholders, regulatory bodies, or company sites.
