The role holder will work closely with financial institutions, stakeholders and clients to structure and negotiate project finance transactions, and ensure compliance with legal requirements.
Responsibilities
Leading the energy and project finance team on diverse transactions
Advising on the structuring of project finance transactions, such as infrastructure, public[1]private partnership, debt debenture, bonds, private equity, and other related financing arrangements
Working closely with financial institutions, project developers, and other stakeholders to facilitate smooth transaction processes
Conducting legal due diligence on behalf of client
Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating key documents such as loan agreements, security documents, and project agreements
Ensuring compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards
Regularly providing clients with industry updates and legal opinions on industry trends; identifying potential legal risks and mitigation strategies
Keeping abreast of trends in the industry
Contributing to the business development of the Practice Area; amongst others.
Specifications
Bachelor's Degree in LLB, BL
LLM will be an added advantage
Minimum of 8 years post-call experience, preferably in the Energy and/or Finance sector
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
Exceptional writing and verbal communication skills
Excellent negotiation skills
Strong understanding of project finance structures and documentation
Excellent team building and management skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
