Responsibilities



  • Delivering lessons in various fine art disciplines such as painting, drawing, sculpture, printmaking, or mixed media.

  • Teaching foundational skills like color theory, composition, perspective, and figure drawing.

  • Providing demonstrations of different artistic techniques and tools.

  • Designing lesson plans and art curricula that align with the institution's educational goals.

  • Creating projects and assignments that challenge and inspire students to think critically and creatively.

  • Organizing workshops, tutorials, and art practice sessions tailored to different skill levels.

  • Offering personalized guidance and feedback to students, helping them develop their own artistic voice.

  • Encouraging self-expression while also focusing on skill development and technique.

  • Identifying each student's strengths and areas for improvement, fostering their growth.

  • Critiquing and assessing students' artwork, providing constructive feedback on both technical and conceptual aspects.

  • Evaluating student progress through assessments, exhibitions, and portfolio reviews.

  • Offering feedback on how students can enhance their work for galleries, competitions, or higher education applications.

  • Encouraging creative experimentation and risk-taking in artistic practice.

  • Leading discussions on art history, theory, and contemporary practices to enhance students' understanding of art’s broader context.

  • Challenging students to analyze and critique their own work and that of others.

  • Teaching the history of fine art and its movements, significant artists, and cultural influences.

  • Integrating art theory into practice to deepen students' conceptual understanding of their work.

  • Assisting students in preparing their artwork for exhibitions, competitions, and professional portfolios.

  • Guiding students on how to present their work, write artist statements, and develop personal branding.

  • Overseeing the organization and maintenance of the art studio and materials.

  • Ensuring that students adhere to safety guidelines when using potentially hazardous materials or equipment.

  • Advising students on career paths within the fine arts industry.

  • Helping students connect with galleries, art institutions, and professionals in the art world.

  • Providing insights into professional practices, such as preparing for exhibitions, marketing, and managing commissions.

  • Maintaining accurate records of student progress and performance.

  • Participating in departmental meetings, planning sessions, and other academic responsibilities.


Education / Experience



  • Bachelor's degree/N.C.E and any other relevant qualifications will be an added an advantage.

  • Minimum of TwoYears Experience.
