Our client, a Ventures Capital firm is looking to hire a Principal/Ventures Partner who will be responsible for optimizing accounting processes and enhancing investor outreach efforts in collaboration with our Investor Relations team. Your responsibilities will include identifying and analyzing investment opportunities, conducting due diligence, and maintaining key investor relationships within a dynamic and growing VC firm. This role offers the potential for professional development and growth, competitive compensation, and advancement to a Partner role. 


Upon advancing to Partner, you will participate in investment committee meetings, contribute to fund strategy development, and mentor junior team members, all while working in a collaborative and supportive team environment.


Responsibilities 



  • Deal Sourcing: Identify potential investment opportunities aligned with our thesis and strategy.

  • Due Diligence: Conduct thorough due diligence on potential investment opportunities market research, financial analysis, and team evaluation.

  • Investment Analysis: Analyze investment opportunities, create models, and present to the committee.

  • Portfolio Support: Provide strategic and operational support to portfolio companies and connecting them with relevant networks 

  • Investor Relations: Build and Maintain relationships with key investors like LPs and institutions.

  • Fundraising: Assist in fundraising efforts including preparing materials, pitching to LPs and supporting fundraising efforts.


Qualifications



  • Minimum of 6-8 years of experience in private market equity transactions, with a focus on private equity, venture capital, or angel investment

  • Master's degree in Finance or a related field (e.g. MSc Finance, MSF, etc.)

  • Professional certification such as CFA, CAIA or progress towards obtaining the charter is an added advantage

  • Experience in managing a portfolio of different asset classes or investment banking experience will be considered

  • Financial modeling and valuation experience is essential

  • Knowledge of Nigerian market and regulatory environment

  • Proven track record of success in deal origination, execution, and portfolio management

  • Strong network and relationships within the private equity and venture capital community

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Strong business acumen and commercial awareness
