The Dance Instructor is responsible for teaching various dance styles and techniques to students of all ages and skill levels.
This role involves creating engaging lesson plans, choreographing routines, and fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
The instructor will also prepare students for performances, competitions, and exams.
Key Responsibilities
Instruction: Teach individual and group dance classes in styles such as Afro, ballet, jazz, hip-hop, contemporary, and ballroom.
Choreography: Create and choreograph dance routines for performances, recitals, and competitions. Select appropriate music and design costumes and stage settings.
Student Assessment: Evaluate and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and guidance. Prepare students for auditions, exams, and public performances.
Curriculum Development: Design and update curriculum to keep lessons engaging and relevant. Stay current with new teaching methods, dance styles, and industry trends. Incorporate technology and multimedia tools into lessons where appropriate.
Performance and Events: Organize and lead student performances and recitals.
Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years of experience teaching dance to students of various ages and skill levels.
Proficiency in multiple dance styles.
Strong understanding of dance theory and ability to teach different genres.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
