Job Description
The Nutrition Focal Persons is responsible for supporting all nutrition activities. In addition to the specific duties outlined below the Health & Nutrition Focal Person is responsible for providing technical support and supervision to the project team; contributing to reporting and data collection; initiating leading monitoring visits to support Health & Nutrition activities and providing timely technical input.
Major Area of Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the project staff to achieve program objectives and targets in nutrition effectively and efficiently
- Provide support in nutrition activities including screening and growth monitoring and collaborate with the program staff to ensure optimal implementation of Community Based Nutrition Program intervention across the LGA.
- Create awareness on the importance of good nutrition practices on children and family health
- Promote collaboration with provincial and local health professional in target province as well with other stakeholders and advocate for policies that promote the use of good nutrition practices
- Participate in nutrition assessment as required.
- Visit project sites and liaise on a regular basis with community mobalizers and other project staff on field level.
- Ensure the community based activities such as CBNP nutrition screening health education and defaulter tracing are done properly.
- Build the capacity of provincial staffs through proper coaching and training in nutrition.
- Link and integrates the Nutrition activities with BPHS in accordance to the national standards as well provide support in the field of nutrition to targeted persons.
- Follow implementation achievements and project constraints by analyzing data and information with a view to review strategies and make adjustments as required.
- Ensure proper implementation of CBNP and IYCF four in one packages within the location.
