- We are looking for an experienced communication expert who also has sound knowledge of small business growth.
- As the Business content creator, you will be responsible for designing and building a library of relevant knowledge content for businesses across different stages of growth.
- This role requires a high level of creativity, as well as the ability to develop compelling contents that are both on-brand; in terms of style, quality, and tone of voice, and data-driven; optimized for search and various content channels.
- The successful candidate will be an innovator and someone who loves to think outside the box. The ideal candidate should have a proven track record of well-researched publications. Preference will be given to those with a strong portfolio, bachelor’s degree, and relevant work experience.
Job Responsibilities
As the Business Content Creator, your job responsibilities will include the following:
- Transform well-researched business knowledge into easy-to-consume content publications for growing businesses.
- Produce blog articles, brochures, ebooks, white papers, business how-to guides, checklists, media video content, reports, newsletters, and event programs - to create a library of highly usable resources for business owners.
- Carry out regular research on our audience segments, utilize insights in creating relevant knowledge resources designed to enable them to grow their businesses.
- Discuss and develop interesting and innovative ideas to write strong and sophisticated stories to attract business readers.
- Create an editorial publishing calendar in line with overarching objectives and ensure timely delivery of content materials.
- Use search engine optimization (SEO) strategies in writing to maximize the online visibility of web resources in search results.
- Research topics relevant to MSME’s. Carry out keyword research to enhance relevance of materials and stay updated on relevant business news and industry trends to support content development.
- Perform regular content audits to ensure content is accurate, optimized, updated, and relevant to the target audience
Requirements
You’ll be a good fit for this position if you have:
- A Degree in Business, Marketing, PR, Journalism, Economics or related field.
- Three (3) years’ experience in a similar position in a progressive company like ours.
- Experience in the startup/investment community is a plus.
- A genuine passion for storytelling, and excellent written communication skills.
- Demonstrable experience with SEO, social media and web analytics.
- Experience and knowledge in copywriting, proofreading and editing.
- Strong research and analytical skills with ability to present findings in a clear and concise manner to an audience of non-experts
- Proficiency in using tools such as; MailChimp, Google analytics, SEMRush, Meltwater, Hootsuite etc.
- Ability to autonomously work and deliver within established timelines with little or no daily supervision
- Action-oriented, entrepreneurial, adaptable, and innovative approach to work
