Job Summary



  • The Maintenance Technician – Truck is responsible for performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on a fleet of trucks used for transporting goods. The technician will ensure that all vehicles are maintained in optimal working condition and comply with safety and operational standards.


Job Responsibilities



  • Perform regular preventive maintenance on trucks, including oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections, and other routine services.

  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in trucks and conduct necessary repairs.

  • Repair or replace faulty components, including engines, transmissions, brakes, steering systems, and lighting systems.

  • Use diagnostic tools to identify issues with truck systems and provide accurate troubleshooting.

  • Recommend repair solutions based on inspections and diagnostics.

  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs and records for all repairs and services performed on trucks.

  • Track parts usage and maintenance costs to provide updates to management.

  • Ensure all trucks meet regulatory and safety standards.

  • Perform regular safety checks on the vehicles and ensure that all work follows standard safety procedures.

  • Manage and order parts as required to perform maintenance and repairs.

  • Ensure that all tools and equipment are in good working order.

  • Respond to truck breakdowns and provide on-site repair services when necessary.

  • Assist drivers with troubleshooting issues on the road when applicable.


Qualifications



  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related course.

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in truck maintenance or a similar role.

  • Knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems.

  • Proficiency with diagnostic tools and equipment.

  • Ability to read and interpret truck schematics and technical manuals.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills to work with drivers and management.
