Job Description

• The post holder will support partners and youth platforms to implement special empowerment initiatives/campaigns towards mobilising young people for climate justice engagements.


• S/he will provide training on climate vulnerability assessment and development of plan of action to address climate vulnerability and strengthen the capacity of the partners, youth groups and movements in area of youth engagement for climate justice.


• S/he will be based in ActionAid Nigeria partner’s office in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. 

Person Specifications

Education / Qualifications

• First Degree in Arts / Humanities / Social Sciences or other related field is essential.

Experience:

• At least two (2) years post NYSC experience, one (1) of which should be in youth related programme in the development sector is essential.


• Experience working with youth and youth groups is essential.


• Knowledge of and experience in developing and conducting effective climate justice campaigns is essential.


• Climate change experience especially in host communities and semi-urban areas is essential.

Skill / Abilities:

• Ability to provide capacity building and support to people with diverse backgrounds and different degrees of expertise.


• Excellent analytical and negotiating skills.


• Fluency in spoken and written English language.


• Highly numerate with excellent multitasking skills


• Excellent planning and prioritization skills


• Excellent (proven) interpersonal skills


• Passionate about young people and movements


• Experience in coordinating training/meetings.
