Job Description



Required job duties are to: 



  • Analyze and interpret data to provide actionable insights. 

  • Support conceptualization, design, and development of new research projects, including writing study protocols, drafting analysis plans, developing and validating tools for implementation, monitoring and collecting data. 

  • Assist in funding acquisition via contributing to proposal writing and preparing study budgets 

  • Support ethical approval processes for new studies, including writing, submitting and managing ethics approval requests at national and international levels. 

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve complex problems. 

  • Assist the Research Manager 

  • Analyze research findings and develop presentations, dashboards, models, infographics and other items to support effective decision-making. 

  • Contribute to the development of reports and visualizations. 

  • Ensure data integrity by performing rigorous cleaning, error checking and validation 

  • Analyze and interpret data to reach insightful conclusions 

  • Enter data into computer databases and other software 

  • Describe, interpret and summarize conclusions 

  • Other duties as deemed necessary


Competencies (Skills, Experience and Knowledge)



  • Hold at least a master’s degree in Statistics.

  • Have a minimum of one (2) years of relevant experience in the field of official statistics. Working experience should include statistical information system.

  • Capability of developing and managing data information system such as ODK, SurveyCTO, etc.

  • Strong background in quantitative methods and knowledge of data collection methods and analysis.

  • Ability to synthesize the data collected and choose the most relevant modes of representation.

  • Effective advisory skills with analytical and problem-solving capabilities

  • Excellent teamwork skills and ability to interact effectively with staff members at all level

    Excellent verbal and written communication skills 

  • Good working knowledge of Excel and competence in the use of other statistical software applications (Stata and R)

  • Good working knowledge of either QGIS or ARCGIS
