Role Overview
The Rota Planner is responsible for creating, managing, and optimizing staff schedules to ensure efficient operations and optimal service delivery to our clients. This role requires a strong understanding of staffing needs, business requirements, and the ability to effectively balance employee preferences with operational demands.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and manage staff rotas that align with business objectives.
- Assign staff to appropriate shifts based on qualifications and preferences.
- Optimize rotas to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
- Manage employee time off requests and coordinate coverage.
- Facilitate shift swapping between employees.
- Communicate and coordinate with department heads and stakeholders.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Must hold a bachelor's (BSc.) or higher national diploma (HND) in any relevant field.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a similar role.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and planning skills.
- Proficiency in scheduling software or tools (like Primavera and others).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Knowledge of labor laws and regulations in the UK is a plus.
