Duties and Responsibilities
- Establish and implement library and information policy procedures.
- Develop and manage convenient and accessible library services.
- Develop library rules and regulations for library users.
- Establish and manage a budget for the library.
- Compile and procure relevant materials to stock the library.
- Maintain a decent and sequential organization of library materials.
- Respond to daily needs of library users.
- Encourage students and teachers to make use of the library.
- Monitor the borrowing and returning of books.
- Evaluate materials to determine outdated and unused items to be discarded.
- Take charge of the collation, procurement and distribution of the students’ textbooks for the session.
- Maintain proper book store records of inflow and outflow of school textbooks - rentals and outright purchase books.
- Liaise with publishers of school textbooks.
Education and Work Experience
- First degree in Library Science or any related field.
- Three (3) years work experience.
