Our client is one of Africa’s largest economies and continues to cement its Group’s position as one of the leading and most diversified consumer brand builders in the country. Due to expansion, they need a MECHANICAL ENGINEER.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the mechanical design, installation, and optimization of production lines for toothpaste making, tube filling, and toothbrush manufacturing machines.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production and quality assurance, to ensure smooth and efficient production processes.
- Serve as the primary technical liaison between the company and the clients, ensuring that their requirements are met and that machinery
- Oversee the commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of complex mechanical systems in oral care product manufacturing.
- Develop technical documentation such as maintenance procedures, operating instructions, and troubleshooting guides
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements in the mechanical engineering aspects of oral care production.
- Conduct root cause analysis for any mechanical failures or downtime and implement preventive measures to avoid recurrence.
- Train and mentor junior engineers and technical staff on the operation and maintenance of advanced production equipment.
JOB REQUIREMENT
- Bachelor’s degree or HND in mechanical engineering or a related field. A master’s degree is an advantage.
- 8-10 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on toothpaste production, tube filling, and toothbrush manufacturing.
- Extensive experience in mechanical systems design, maintenance, and optimization for oral care manufacturing processes.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work with clients to resolve technical challenges and improve production efficiency.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and mechanical simulation tools.
- Strong understanding of safety standards and compliance requirements in manufacturing environments.
