Job Description



  • Plan, organized and execute commercial broiler farming tasks for EC pens and open houses

  • Handle Operations of Commercial Broiler Farms, setting goals and objectives, and designing a framework for these to be met

  • A minimum of seven production cycles per year.

  • Average body weight of 2kg with narrow range of 1.8-2 kg using maximum of 3 kg of professional feed per bird within 4.5 weeks.

  • FCR of 1.5.

  • Mortality not exceeding 5%.

  • Follow Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for pen house and farm preparation, stocking, rearing and harvesting.

  • Preparation of stocking calendar in consultation with hatchery, Abattoir Manager and Sales Manager.

  • Adaption of stocking densities if necessary.

  • Managing staff in order to enhance farm performance and cost effectiveness.

  • Low Staff turnover and overhead.

  • Liaising with feed and day-old chick procedures, ensuring positive working relationships are maintained.

  • Resolving staff conflict and disagreement .

  • Using different shed management techniques in order to find optimum bird growing requirement.

  • Maintaining a high level of farm presentation at all times.

  • Maintaining all farm assests.

  • Designing and ensuring bio-security, health and safety, environment and animal welfare procedures and adhered to all times.

  • Operational Oversight of all pen house regarding preparation and maintenance, feeding, health and quality assurance, growth and harvesting; overall responsibility for operations of our farming estates with their pen house.

  • Oversight of business expansion of the broiler production through organic growth (expansion of own pen house)

  • Other functions as prescribed by the Management.


Requirements and Skills



  • B.Sc / HND in Animal Science, Agronomy, Agriculture, or related field.

  • Minimum 7+ year’s experience

  • Strong decision-making.

  • Problem-solving.

  • Communication.

  • Ability to work with cross functional teams

  • Leadership.

  • Administration skills.

  • Knowledge of key equipment practices
