Job Summary

• Prepare complete cost estimation and tender pricing for HVAC elements which includes; material, labour, erection equipment, testing / commissioning man hours, direct & indirect resources in line with BOQ, scope of work, project specifications & relevant standards.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Meeting with clients and project managers to discuss the scope of the project


• Study invitation to tender (ITT) documents including drawings, project specification, BOQ, scope of work, contract details, and conditions.


• Prepare HVAC project cost estimates, evaluate contractors’ bids, and recommend the best option to the client.


• HVAC Tender BOQ Pricing in line with project specifications, drawings and other associated invitation to tender documents.


• Prepare HVAC conceptual designs and associated cost estimates for Design and Build projects.


• Prepareand sendinquiries to subcontractors/vendors to get competitive quotations.


• Collaborate with the construction/operations team to establish execution method statements and reflect the same in estimation.


• Preparetechnical clarifications to clients for discrepancies in tender documents after reviewing, as well as implementing the changes after response.


• Participate in pre-tender meetings, site visits, and preparesite visit reports to analyse the project scope of work.


• Analyse vendor technical and commercial offers in view of project specifications and standards.


• Preparecomparative statements to analyse and select the most appropriate vendors and subcontractors.


• Prepare vendors to cost comparative study report to get a financial selection of vendors/subcontractors & price.


• Preparerequired bid documents that include commercial and technical submittals.


• Collect all vendors’ technical data sheets, vendor specification, drawings and compile in line with tender documents to prepare technical bid submission.


• Prepareand coordinatepost-tender technical and commercial clarifications


• Assist the management for post tender commercial negotiations with client and vendors to reach competitive pricing.


• Preparation of project cost estimates, evaluate contractors’ bids and recommend the best option to the client.


• Report to the Estimation Team Lead and/or Technical Director depending on assigned task.


• Provide support during project implementation

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering


• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in HVAC tendering and estimation


• Proficiency in the use of Air Conditioning OEMs simulation software.


• Proficiency in the use of cooling load calculation software. Such as HAP, Latsload etc


• Proficiency in the use of Duct sizing software. e,g Ductulator


• Good knowledge of relevant HVAC codes and standards.


• Membership of COREN & NSE.


• Strong relationship with Air Conditioning OEM representatives/vendors is an added advantage


• AUTOCAD/ REVIT Proficiency.


• Microsoft office suites applications Proficiency.
