The Procurement Officer is responsible for managing the procurement process, including sourcing, purchasing, and maintaining supplier relationships.
The ideal candidate will have strong negotiation skills, a thorough understanding of procurement processes, and the ability to analyse market trends to make strategic purchasing decisions.
Responsibilities
Identify and evaluate potential suppliers and vendors.
Maintain a comprehensive vendor database.
Develop and manage supplier relationships to ensure quality and compliance with contract terms.
Manage the procurement of materials, supplies, and services in a timely and cost-effective manner.
Ensure accurate documentation of all procurement activities.
Conduct market research to identify pricing trends and cost-saving opportunities.
Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure advantageous terms.
Monitor and analyze supplier performance against key performance indicators.
Collaborate with inventory and warehouse teams to maintain optimal stock levels.
Monitor and forecast inventory needs based on project requirements.
Ensure compliance with company policies, procurement regulations, and ethical standards.
Generate and present procurement reports to management, detailing purchasing activities, savings achieved, and supplier performance.
Work closely with other departments, such as finance, logistics, and operations, to align procurement activities with organizational goals.
Provide training and support to team members on procurement processes as needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
3 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management.
Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficient in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Knowledge of renewable energy procurement practices is a plus.
