Job Description
Our client in the Hospitality industry is looking to hire Commis Chefs for their new restaurant in Lekki Phase 1, Lagos. The Commis Chefs will assist in the preparation and cooking of menu items, learning from senior chefs while ensuring that all food produced is of a high quality. This is a great opportunity to develop culinary skills in a professional kitchen environment.
Responsibilities:
- Assist cooks and kitchen staff with various tasks as needed, and provide cooks with needed items.
- Receive and store food supplies, equipment, and utensils in refrigerators, cupboards, and other storage areas.
- Take and record temperature of food and food storage areas, such as refrigerators and freezers.
- Coordinate with and assist fellow employees to meet guests’ needs and support the operation of the restaurant.
- Support kitchen operations by preparing ingredients and assisting in cooking.
- Perform basic cooking tasks, such as preparing fillings, sauces, and garnishes.
- Learn and develop culinary skills, with opportunities for growth within the company.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year relevant experience
- Knowledge of basic kitchen skills
- Communication and interpersonal skills
- Teachable and able to work in fast paced operations
