Responsibilities



  • Operate, monitor, and control refining equipment, including centrifuges, distillation columns, boilers, heaters, and separators to refine raw materials into finished FMCG products.

  • Regularly check temperature, pressure, flow rates, and chemical composition to ensure the process is running optimally. Make adjustments as necessary to maintain efficiency and product quality.

  • Conduct regular product sampling and testing at various stages of the refining process to ensure products meet company and regulatory standards for purity, consistency, and safety.

  • Identify, diagnose, and resolve mechanical and operational issues with refinery equipment to prevent downtime. Coordinate with the maintenance team for repairs and preventive maintenance when necessary.

  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations. Implement safety protocols, and immediately report any hazards or incidents to supervisors. Regularly participate in safety drills and equipment inspections.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of refinery operations, including process changes, downtime, product yields, and quality results. Ensure all logs and reports are properly completed.

  • Continuously look for opportunities to improve process efficiency by suggesting modifications to equipment settings or processes, and working with the production and engineering teams to implement improvements.

  • Perform basic routine maintenance and cleaning of refinery equipment, ensuring that machinery is in good working condition and free from contaminants that could affect production quality.

  • Work closely with production supervisors, quality assurance teams, and maintenance personnel to ensure smooth operation of the refinery and alignment with production targets.

  • Assist in the management of raw material and product inventories, ensuring that sufficient materials are available for production while minimizing waste and overstocking.

  • Follow company’s standard operating procedures (SOPs) and good manufacturing practices (GMPs) to ensure that operations align with industry standards and regulatory requirements.


Requirements



  • Proven experience as a Refinery Operator or similar role in FMCG, food processing, or chemical industries.

  • Technical diploma or certification in Chemical Engineering, Process Technology, or a related field.

  • In-depth knowledge of refinery processes, equipment operation, and safety protocols.

  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.

  • Ability to interpret process diagrams, flow charts, and control panel readings.

  • Familiarity with quality control techniques and product testing methods.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including shift work and occasional weekends.

  • Previous experience in an FMCG production environment.

  • Experience with automated control systems and monitoring software.
