Job Summary
- The Installer/Technical Officer plays a crucial role in ensuring the effective installation, maintenance and commissioning of innovative hardware tracking devices and Services.
- Reporting to the Service Delivery Manager, the Technical Officer is responsible for providing technical expertise, support, and coordination to ensure the seamless delivery of fleet management solutions, including online real-time fleet telematics, maintaining the quality of hardware tracking devices installation, and speed control device (road speed limiter) implementation.
- They will also assist in fleet management training and consulting services.
Job Responsibilities
Technical Support:
- Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of fleet management products, including MiX-Telematics range of Fleet Manager Products.
- Provide technical support to the Service Delivery/Operations unit for efficient execution of projects and timely resolution of technical issues.
- Collaborate with the field unit to ensure effective implementation and maintenance of speed control devices, adhering to regulatory requirements.
Customer Engagement:
- Engage with customers to understand their requirements and provide technical guidance on fleet management solutions.
- Address customer queries, escalations, and complaints related to technical aspects of products and services, ensuring prompt resolution.
- Conduct training sessions and workshops to enhance customer understanding and utilization of fleet management solutions.
Technical Coordination:
- Collaborate with the Procurement/IT department to ensure the availability of necessary hardware, software, and tools for installation and maintenance.
- Liaise with Accounts/Admin department to facilitate efficient billing, invoicing, and tracking of the technical aspects of projects.
- Coordinate with the Service Delivery Manager and cross-functional teams for smooth project delivery and post-implementation support.
Quality Assurance:
- Perform quality checks to ensure the accuracy and reliability of fleet management products and services.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to assess compliance with technical standards and regulatory requirements.
- Continuously monitor customer feedback and address any gaps or areas for improvement in technical service delivery.
Job Qualifications
- Higher National Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in relevant fields (e.g., Engineering, Computer Science) or equivalent practical experience.
- Proven experience in technical support and coordination in the logistics, fleet management, or automotive industry.
- Strong technical knowledge of fleet management solutions, telematics, and speed control devices.
- Familiarity with installation, configuration, and maintenance of fleet products and services.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Customer-centric mindset with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong organizational and coordination skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in relevant software applications and tools.
