Job Description



  • The Truck Driver is responsible for providing safe and reliable transportation services for the movement of all company stock, from all warehouse locations to the factory and factory to customer locations.

  • The role also involves running official errands as needed and approved by the Processing Manager, Head of Logistics, or HR Manager.

  • The Truck Driver must ensure all vehicles are well-maintained, safety of cargo, Zero loss in transit, comply with traffic regulations, and provide excellent service.


Responsibilities



  • Safely transport of cargo from Warehouse locations to the factory according to schedules.

  • Ensure the safety and timely delivery of cargo to various locations at all times

  • Plan routes and follow the most efficient paths to destinations.

  • Conduct regular inspections and maintenance checks of company vehicles, including oil, fuel, brakes, tires, and lights.

  • Report any vehicle defects, repairs, and maintenance needs to the Head of Logistics promptly.

  • Ensure vehicles are always clean, fuelled, and ready for use.

  • Run official errands, such as collecting documents, packages, and supplies, as required and approved by the Processing Manager, Head of Logistics, or HR Manager.

  • Assist in the coordination of logistics for company events and activities.

  • Maintain accurate trip records, including mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents or delays.

  • Comply with all local traffic laws and regulations to ensure the safety of passengers, cargo and pedestrians.

  • Report accidents, injuries, or mechanical breakdowns to the appropriate authority immediately.

  • Maintain a professional and courteous demeanour in delivery of tasks.



  • Assist with monitoring, loading and unloading luggage or equipment as needed.

  • Respond to all inquiries and requests in a friendly and helpful manner.

  • Provide support to other departments as needed, including assisting with minor office maintenance and administrative tasks.

  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the Processing Manager, Head of Logistics, or HR Manager.


 Required Skills/Abilities:



  • Strong knowledge of traffic laws

  • Maintenance knowledge and Timely Vehicle Inspections

  • Problem-solving skills

  • Excellent sense of navigation

  • Responsibility and reliability

  • Valid Driver’s license

  • Knowledge of Nigeria's road map

  • Safety Regulations and Hazard Recognition

  • Timely Vehicle Inspections

  • Time Management


Requirements



  • Minimum of an OND/HND in driving

  • Proven experience of 5 years as a Driver.

  • Age Requirement:28-40 years.
