Job Overview



  • We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Compliance Officer to join our client’s team at a leading Telecommunication provider company in Lagos, Nigeria. As a Compliance Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that the company adheres to all legal standards, internal policies, and industry regulations. You will be responsible for implementing compliance programs, monitoring operational processes, and ensuring the organization remains compliant with applicable laws and regulations.


Key Responsibilities



  • Ensure Company adheres to legal standards and in-house policies

  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of controls and processes, identifying potential risk areas and recommending improvements to mitigate compliance risks.

  • Conduct regular audits and assessments of company operations, document findings and follow up on corrective actions.

  • Stay up to date with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards, including data protection, anti-corruption, cybersecurity, and financial regulations, and advise the business accordingly.

  • Collaborate with key internal stakeholders, including legal, finance, and IT departments, to ensure companywide compliance with applicable regulations.

  • Train employees on compliance procedures, including company policies, ethical conduct, and regulatory requirements.

  • Develop and oversee control systems to prevent violations of legal guidelines

  • Prepare and submit compliance reports to senior management and regulatory authorities, as required.

  • Act as a liaison with regulatory agencies and external auditors, ensuring timely responses to any inquiries or audits.

  • Investigate compliance breaches, report incidents to management, and take appropriate remedial actions.


Qualifications:



  • Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • 5+ years of experience as a Compliance Officer or regulatory role.

  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills

  • Strong organizational and project management skills

  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex compliance issues to non-specialists.

  • Proficiency in using compliance management software and tools.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset.

  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and commitment to ethical standards.
