Our client is a leading trading company based in Nigeria that specializes in the exportation of high-quality cocoa beans and cashew. Due to expansion, they are in need of a FLEET TRACKING OFFICER. 


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Manage and operate the fleet tracking and telematics system, ensuring accurate, real-time data collection on vehicle location, performance, and driver behavior.

  • ∙Monitor vehicle diagnostics, including fuel usage status, engine health, and maintenance alerts.

  • ∙Track and oversee the daily movement of the company’s fleet to ensure all vehicles are following assigned routes and schedules. ∙

  • Provide real-time updates on truck status, location, and any deviations from the planned routes. ∙Analyze data to identify trends, inefficiencies, or potential issues.

  • ∙Monitor driver behavior to ensure adherence to safe driving practices and company policies.

  • ∙Promptly report unsafe driving practices (harsh breaking, over speeding, excessive idling, etc.). ∙

  • Ensure average on-time delivery (OTD) is achieved per truck, and in line with set targets. ∙

  • Coordinate with the maintenance department to ensure vehicles are serviced promptly to prevent breakdowns. ∙

  • Monitor for emergency situations, such as vehicle breakdowns, accidents, or theft, and take immediate action by prompt escalation. ∙

  • Coordinate with emergency response and HSE team for incidents reports. ∙

  • Advise the team-lead of identified risks and issues to the effective management of compliance ∙

  • Escalate all forms of suspected tracker device tampering for prompt resolution. ∙

  • Continuously assess fleet performance data against market trends to suggest improvements in route planning, vehicle utilization, and driver efficiency.


JOB REQUIREMENT



  • Minimum of a first degree in Accounting, Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or any related discipline.

  • 2 – 3 years of previous experience in a similar role Membership of Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) Nigeria would be an added advantage.

  • Knowledge of the transportation and haulage industries would be an added advantage. Excellent data analysis and reporting skills.

  • Expert knowledge and use of Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) Experience working with tracking systems and software.
