Description



  • Conduct all activities with a strong emphasis on safety and efficiency.

  • Effectively communicate information pertaining to potentially hazardous situations and ensure a clear understanding through confirmation.

  • Verify the proper execution of chemical and physical testing. Ensure the optimal utilization and secure storage of tests and products.

  • Evaluate risks associated with sampling points and ensure comprehensive management of these risks.

  • Facilitate the implementation and continuous updates of the plant's Quality Management System.

  • Monitor product quality on a daily basis and undertake necessary actions to guarantee that customers receive products that adhere to specifications.

  • Establish internal quality objectives for intermediate products.

  • Assess specific risks regarding quality and, when appropriate, implement preventive measures.

  • Execute targeted procedures as necessary to address quality-related incidents.

  • Remain informed about developments in official product standards and ensure compliance.

  • Conduct physical and chemical analyses to verify that raw materials, semi-finished products, and finished goods conform to required specifications (both norms and internal standards).

  • Ensure that all chemical analyses and physical tests conducted within the facility are dependable and precise.

  • Interpret test results and initiate appropriate corrective and preventive measures in instances where results indicate the production of non-conforming products.

  • Investigate quality-related issues and communicate findings to the Quality Manager.

  • Manage laboratory resources, encompassing personnel (motivation, on-the-job training, and career development) and equipment, to achieve optimal performance.

  • Adhere to standards and procedures for sampling, preparation, and analysis.

  • Ensure effective practices in data management.

  • Develop and implement experimental plans, under supervision, to address recurring issues (e.g., significant deviations in quality parameters).

  • Participate in quality audits.


Requirements



  • BSc./HND or MSc. in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Chemistry, Chemistry or equivalent.

  • At least 6 years of pertinent experience, preferably within the Cement Industry.

  • Must be detail oriented, conscientious and high reading comprehension skills.

  • Must Demonstrate proficiency in computerized systems.

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently and in a timely fashion.

  • Must be able to perform a variety of chemical analysis procedures as required within the work area.

  • Must be able to communicate effectively with supervisors and peers.

  • Comprehend mathematical concepts such as logarithms, algebraic, conversions, fractions, decimals, and rounding.

  • Ability to understand and follow written procedures.

  • Must be self-motivated and work with minimal direction.

  • Utilize good judgment in making decisions within limitations of recognized standard methods and procedures.

  • Must maintain GMP compliance within the assigned laboratory.

  • Demonstrate creativity, flexibility, teamwork, and leadership skills.

  • Complete all training and written exams.

  • Must be able to temporarily work a flexible schedule to meet business needs.

  • Knowledge of ISO systems will be an advantage.
