Job Description



  • The Accounting Software Support will prepares, processes, and reviews payroll, accounts payable and receivable, invoices, and other financial records, keeping track of accounts, evaluating bookkeeping procedures, and verifying the accuracy of financial records.


Responsibilities



  • Performing administrative tasks such as arranging payroll and administering payments for invoices.

  • Book-keeping tasks.

  • Operating software packages to record and retrieve information, particularly spreadsheets.

  • Monitoring company/department financial transactions and controlling budgets.

  • Preparing accounts, budgets, reports and financial statements for clientele.

  • Auditing internal and external accounts and generating end of year calculations.

  • Making sure the organization is compliant with current taxation legislation.

  • Maintaining and updating financial records in an organized manner

  • Reconciling balance sheet accounts and preparing basic financial statements

  • Recording journal entries

  • Calculating pay cheques for tax and related bills

  • Completing and submitting tax remittance forms such as T4 slips

  • Performing other bookkeeping duties

  • Implementing internal controls that protect a client’s assets


Requirements



  • Minimum academic qualification of HND qualification

  • At least 1 year experience as an accountant with knowledge of using accounting software

  • The candidate must be proficient with using accounting software

  • Strong mathematical skills.

  • Strong commercial sense.

  • Competent IT skills, particularly in the use of spreadsheets.

  • An understanding of industry practices gained through work experience may be helpful.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to present accounting concepts to other professionals

  • Excellent organization skills

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality when managing company records

  • Computer proficiency to work with digitalized financial records

  • Strong numeracy skills

  • Ability to establish and monitor financial reporting systems

  • Ability to prepare detailed reports and financial statements.
