Job Summary

• This role requires strong attention to detail, an understanding of scientific techniques, and an ability to work independently within the laboratory setting.


• This individual will be responsible for overseeing laboratory operations, conducting tests, and recording observations and data accurately.


• Regularly maintain, and troubleshoot lab equipment, and keep an inventory of supplies, placing orders when necessary.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage laboratory operations, ensuring all tests are conducted accurately and efficiently.


• Perform routine and specialized tests on samples, such as blood counts, chemistry profiles, and microscopic exams, using laboratory instruments and equipment.


• Review and interpret test data to identify any abnormalities or indicators of disease and provide accurate reports for healthcare providers.


• Conduct regular quality checks on laboratory instruments, calibrate equipment as needed, and ensure compliance with testing protocols to maintain accuracy.


• Adhere to strict health and safety standards to prevent contamination, manage hazardous materials safely and comply with laboratory regulations and procedures.


• Train and supervise junior laboratory staff as necessary.


• Record test results and observations of meticulously, enter data into patient records or laboratory databases and prepare reports for physicians.

Qualifications and Requirements

• B.Sc / HND in Science Laboratory Technology or a related discipline.


• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in laboratory management.


• Familiarity with laboratory equipment, testing procedures, and safety protocols.


• Knowledge of ethical practices and strict patient confidentiality.


• Membership in relevant professional bodies is an added advantage.
