Job Role




  • Coordination of all maintenance planning and scheduling activities using the corporate Maintenance Management System (SAP – PM/MM). This includes:

    • Responsible to maintain and improve the maintenance planning and scheduling workflow process. Continually improve planning, scheduling, purchasing, data management and job reporting system to increase planning effectiveness and efficiency.

    • Ensure that all Work Orders are fully scoped to conduct the relevant repair or preventive activities.

    • Make sure that maintenance procedures are developed where required to promote defect-free maintenance work quality.

    • Oversee purchase of necessary parts, equipment and services and the availability of required documentation to perform the maintenance work.

    • Ensure that manpower and resources are properly scheduled for the most effective production and maintenance outcome, maximizing utilization of internal and contractor labor.

    • Responsible for up-keep and accuracy of equipment maintenance history.



  • Coordination of CMMS (SAP PM): 

    • Act as CMMS administrator and focal point of master data change related to CMMS.

    • Assist in the development of the CMMS in support of organizational objectives.

    • Provide CMMS technical assistance to other members of the organization.

    • Organize regular training of work management processes and CMMS functionality.



  • General standard report/metrics/KPIs:

    • Responsible to generate regular reports on monthly, quarterly and annual basis to provide business process metrics on the maintenance activities.

    • Prepare daily weekly look-ahead programs to be distributed to maintenance, operations and others departments. 

    • Develop medium- and long-term plans of major maintenance activities.



  • Lead the development, implementation and follow-up of plant shutdown schedules:

    • Responsible to develop, communicate, review, organize and refine shutdown plans and schedules.

    • Develop the overall shutdown master plan and coordinate requisitions of materials/parts, tools, additional resources and external services, in coordination with maintenance supervisors and all departments involved in the shutdown.

    • Supervise the activities during the shutdown and issue daily progress updates.



  • Responsible for coordinating the PM review for the update of existing PMs and the development of new procedures and frequencies.

  • Management of Planning department:

    • Responsible for recruiting, hiring, training and managing the maintenance planning group (6 maintenance planners and 2 maintenance schedulers)

    • Develop the organizational capability of the maintenance planning group

    • Develop and monitor training plans for maintenance planners and schedulers



  • Comply with and enforce Company’s QHES Policies and Procedures and actively participate in all relevant Company programs during the execution of his functions:

    • Comply with directives, plans, procedures, guidelines, legal requirements and others adopted Company commitments with regards to Quality, Occupational Health, Safety and Environment (QHSE).

    • Participate actively in any QHSE activity required as part of the assigned duties and in general, in any other initiative implemented by the Company to improve QHSE performance.

    • Promote compliance with QHSE standards and guidelines at work, including any work engaging contractors, suppliers and customers

    • Any other duty that may be assigned from time to time by management.





Qualifications




  • Engineering Degree with 10+ years of experience as maintenance planner in a process operating plant.

  • This position requires strong experience of at least 10 years in Maintenance Planning and Scheduling (including managing shutdown planning and execution) in an oil and has facility.

  • The incumbent should have at least 3 years’ experience leading a team of technicians or planners.

  • Strong knowledge and experience of Operation and Maintenance work practices and procedures.

  • Sound knowledge of a CMMS software such as SAP (preferably), JDE or Maximo.

  • Knowledge in computer software such as MS project, Primavera (scheduling software), MS Excel and MS Access (Database software).

  • Knowledge of international and Nigerian industrial regulations.

  • International experience or previous work in a multinational organization is an advantage
