- The Chief Security Officer will be responsible for the overall security of the University, ensuring the implementation and maintenance of the University’s security policies, standards, guidelines and procedures.
Responsibilities
The responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to:
- Developing and implementing a comprehensive security framework, built on policies and procedures to protect students, staff, assets and the University community.
- Leading and managing a team of security personnel, providing guidance, training, and support.
- Conducting risk assessments and vulnerability analyses to identify potential security threats and ensuring compliance to procedures aimed at mitigating such risks.
- Developing and implementing emergency response plans and procedures and coordinating response efforts.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with security agencies and architecture in the University environs, and ensuring security operations comply with relevant regulations, laws, and industry standards.
Job Requirements
The ideal candidate for the position of Chief Security Officer should possess the following qualifications and skills:
- Previous military experience at the level of Lieutenant or greater.
- Proven experience in security management or a related field.
- Certification in security management or a related field
- Strong leadership and management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make quick decisions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and security software.
- Experience in security planning, risk assessment, and emergency response; - Knowledge of security regulations, laws, and industry standards.
