Job Overview
We are assisting our client, a prominent player in the real estate and construction sector, in recruiting a skilled Senior Accountant. The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting background, with a keen understanding of the real estate industry's financial dynamics. This role demands a proactive individual who can contribute to the company's financial strategy and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Salary: ₦250,000 - ₦350,000 Monthly Gross
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all financial transactions, ensuring accuracy in accounting entries and adherence to company policies and standards.
- Develop, manage, and analyze budgets, forecasts, and variance reports, providing insights into financial performance and trends specific to real estate projects.
- Prepare timely and accurate financial statements, reports, and analyses to inform management decisions, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Manage all aspects of tax compliance, including VAT, corporate tax, and property tax, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
- Facilitate internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations of financial processes and transactions.
- Monitor cash flow and manage working capital to support operational needs, including project funding and vendor payments.
- Implement and maintain cost control measures for projects, analyzing project costs and profitability, and recommending improvements.
- Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff, fostering professional development and enhancing team performance.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations regarding financial reporting and taxation relevant to the real estate industry.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of post-NYSC experience in accounting, with a preference for candidates with experience in the real estate or construction industry.
- Professional certification (e.g., ACA, ACCA) is a strong advantage.
- Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) and MS Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Strong understanding of financial regulations and compliance requirements in Nigeria.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
