Job Overview



We are assisting our client, a prominent player in the real estate and construction sector, in recruiting a skilled Senior Accountant. The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting background, with a keen understanding of the real estate industry's financial dynamics. This role demands a proactive individual who can contribute to the company's financial strategy and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.



Salary: ₦250,000 - ₦350,000 Monthly Gross



Key Responsibilities:




  1. Oversee all financial transactions, ensuring accuracy in accounting entries and adherence to company policies and standards.

  2. Develop, manage, and analyze budgets, forecasts, and variance reports, providing insights into financial performance and trends specific to real estate projects.

  3. Prepare timely and accurate financial statements, reports, and analyses to inform management decisions, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.

  4. Manage all aspects of tax compliance, including VAT, corporate tax, and property tax, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.

  5. Facilitate internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations of financial processes and transactions.

  6. Monitor cash flow and manage working capital to support operational needs, including project funding and vendor payments.

  7. Implement and maintain cost control measures for projects, analyzing project costs and profitability, and recommending improvements.

  8. Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff, fostering professional development and enhancing team performance.

  9. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations regarding financial reporting and taxation relevant to the real estate industry.



Qualifications




  1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

  2. A minimum of 3 years of post-NYSC experience in accounting, with a preference for candidates with experience in the real estate or construction industry.

  3. Professional certification (e.g., ACA, ACCA) is a strong advantage.

  4. Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) and MS Office Suite, especially Excel.

  5. Strong understanding of financial regulations and compliance requirements in Nigeria.

  6. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.

  7. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.

  8. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
