Nine Stars Limited is seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Legal Advisor to provide expert legal guidance, support, and advisory services across various business functions.
The ideal candidate will ensure that Nine Stars Limited complies with all applicable legal standards, protects its interests, and proactively mitigates risks associated with its operations.
Key Responsibilities
Legal Compliance and Advisory: Offer expert legal advice to management on company policies, strategic business decisions, and corporate matters. Ensure the company’s adherence to all applicable Nigerian laws, regulations, and compliance standards.
Contract Review and Negotiation: Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and MOUs to secure the company’s interests. Identify potential legal risks in contracts and propose solutions to mitigate these risks.
Policy and Procedure Development: Develop, review, and implement company policies to ensure full legal compliance and risk management. Update internal policies in alignment with changes in laws and regulations.
Risk Management and Mitigation: Identify legal risks associated with business operations and create strategies to minimize potential exposure. Conduct risk assessments and ensure that risk management practices are integrated into corporate operations.
Liaison with External Legal Partners: Act as the primary liaison between Nine Stars Limited and external legal advisors or law firms. Manage relationships with external counsel and coordinate on specific legal cases, as required.
Regulatory Compliance: Monitor changes in relevant laws and regulations, ensuring the company remains compliant. Conduct internal audits to maintain corporate governance and legal compliance.
Legal Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain a systematic and organized record of legal documents, contracts, and other sensitive information. Ensure all documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and stored securely.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LLB).
Must have been called to the Nigerian Bar.
A minimum of 3 years post call experience as a legal practitioner or in a similar role, preferably in corporate or commercial law.
Strong knowledge of corporate, contract, and employment law.
Proven ability to draft, negotiate, and manage contracts and legal documents.
