JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sponsorship and Business Development Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong network of potential sponsors, such as banks, drinks
companies, FinTech, and others. This role requires someone who can effectively package our events into sponsorable properties, maintain relationships, and secure funding for the company’s range of events.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Sponsorship Acquisition
- Package events into attractive sponsorship opportunities.
- Create compelling sponsorship proposals and presentations.
- Identify and target potential sponsors from relevant industries.
Outreach and Networking
- Conduct regular outreach to potential sponsors and follow up on leads.
- Build and maintain relationships with existing and potential sponsors.
- Attend industry events and network to build new relationships.
- Regularly update and manage the CRM system to track sponsorship leads, relationships, and event funding status.
Event Coordination
- Collaborate with the events team to ensure sponsor requirements are met.
- Coordinate with sponsors to ensure successful event execution as needed.
Reporting and Analysis
- Provide updates to sponsors on event progress and outcomes.
- Track and report on sponsorship acquisition and retention metrics.
- Provide feedback and insights on sponsorship strategies and performance.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in sponsorship sales, business development, or a related role.
- Proven track record of securing sponsorships in the creative, culture, or events space.
- Strong network of potential sponsors, particularly in banks, drinks companies, and fintech startups.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to manage CRM and build new relationships.
- Highly organized with strong project management skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
- Passion for African culture, fashion, art, and design is a plus.
