Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated French Teacher to join our educational team in Benin City, Nigeria. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging French language instruction to students, fostering a love for the French language and culture.

• Develop and implement comprehensive French language curricula for various proficiency levels


• Plan and deliver engaging lessons that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities


• Assess and evaluate student progress through a variety of methods, including oral and written examinations


• Create a supportive and immersive French-speaking environment in the classroom


• Utilize modern teaching methodologies and educational technology to enhance learning outcomes


• Organize and supervise French cultural activities and events to promote language immersion


• Collaborate with colleagues to develop cross-curricular learning opportunities.


• Participate in staff meetings, professional development sessions, and parent-teacher conferences

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in French, Education, or a related field


• Valid teaching certification or licence


• Native or near-native fluency in French, with excellent speaking, reading, and writing skills


• Proven experience in teaching French as a second language


• Strong knowledge of French language pedagogy and second language acquisition methodologies


• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills


• Proficiency in using educational technology and multimedia resources in the classroom


• Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive learning environment


• Cultural sensitivity and awareness, with the ability to incorporate French cultural elements into lessons


• Familiarity with the Nigerian educational system is advantageous


• Patience, creativity, and a passion for inspiring students to learn French
