Job Summary
We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Accountant to join our client's team in the manufacturing/FMCG sector. This role is pivotal in supporting the Finance department by ensuring accurate financial record-keeping, optimizing cost control, and enhancing profitability. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in managing accounts, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Accounts Payable: Manage invoices, verify payments, and ensure timely reconciliation of vendor accounts.
- Accounts Receivable: Invoice customers, track payments, and follow up on outstanding receivables.
- General Ledger Management: Maintain accurate general ledger entries, perform reconciliations, and organize financial records.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly and annual financial statements, including profit & loss and balance sheets.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in preparing the annual budget and update financial forecasts as needed.
- Audit Preparation: Coordinate with internal and external auditors by providing required documentation and schedules.
- Tax Compliance: Prepare tax returns and ensure compliance with federal and state tax laws.
- Cash Reconciliation: Perform daily reconciliations of cash, checks, and card transactions, and update accounting software.
- Payroll & Statutory Deductions: Assist in payroll processing, statutory remittances, and issuing payslips to employees.
- Fixed Asset Management: Update the fixed asset register, ensure monthly depreciation, and perform stock counts.
- Ad Hoc Projects: Support additional finance projects, including compliance checks and financial data analysis.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a similar capacity, preferably in manufacturing/FMCG
- ICAN certification is an added advantage
- Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
