Job Summary:
- The Mechanical Shift Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the operation and maintenance (O&M) of the gas-based power plant, ensuring efficient performance, reliable production, and adherence to safety standards. The candidate will manage all plant operations and maintenance activities on assigned shifts, troubleshooting mechanical issues with a strong focus on 4-stroke engine mechanics and the overall operation of auxiliary systems.
Job Responsibilities:
- Supervise the power plant’s mechanical operations, particularly gas-fired systems, ensuring all procedures are conducted safely and efficiently.
- Planned and conducted maintenance of mechanical 4-stroke engines and auxiliary systems, maintaining high operational standards.
- Identify and resolve mechanical issues on 4-stroke engines and auxiliary equipment.
- Employ mechanical measuring tools effectively to troubleshoot and ensure optimum performance.
- Prepare and submit Shift, Daily, Weekly, and Incident reports for comprehensive documentation of operations.
- Maintain records of system performance and report abnormalities promptly for necessary actions.
- Coordinate the commissioning of a minimum 10 MW power generation setup, including distribution network planning.
- Manage commissioning tasks related to CNG Daughter Stations and Waste Heat Recovery Boilers (WHRB) systems.
- Oversee operations of 33kV/11kV/415V underground power distribution systems, ensuring consistent supply and regulatory compliance.
- Monitor and ensure uninterrupted gas-based power generation and distribution to meet the plant’s operational demands.
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of Jenbacher engines and SCADA systems for optimal plant operation.
- Manage auxiliary power and gas systems, leveraging technical expertise to support overall plant performance.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s or Post-Graduate Degree in a related technical field.
- Minimum 10-15 years of experience in power plant operations, with at least 10 years focused on Natural Gas-fired Power Generation (minimum 10 MW).
- Minimum 5 years in managing operations for a 33kV/11kV/415V underground power distribution system.
- Minimum 5 years of experience with CNG Daughter Stations and WHRB systems.
- Proficiency in using mechanical measuring equipment.
- Strong understanding of mechanical maintenance, engine component overhauls, and auxiliary systems.
- Experience with Jenbacher engines and SCADA systems (preferred).
- Ability to develop, interpret, and manage shift reports, analyze data, and implement corrective actions where necessary.
