  • The Senior General Manager, Mechanical is a pivotal leadership role responsible for overseeing all mechanical operations within the Dangote Cement Group. This position entails developing maintenance strategies, managing mechanical systems, and ensuring adherence to safety and operational standards across all facilities. The role demands a strategic thinker who can lead a team while also being hands-on in solving complex mechanical issues.



Tasks and Responsibilities:




  • Develop and implement comprehensive mechanical maintenance programs

  • Oversee the operation and maintenance of mechanical systems and equipment

  • Manage and lead a team of mechanical engineers and technicians

  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations

  • Monitor performance metrics and optimize operational efficiency

  • Collaborate with other departments to align mechanical operations with overall business goals

  • Conduct regular inspections and audits of mechanical systems and equipment

  • Evaluate the need for upgrades and new machinery

Requirements



The following skills and qualifications are required for the position of Senior General Manager, Mechanical:




  • B.Sc. / B.Eng. / HND in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

  • Minimum of 26 years of experience in mechanical maintenance and engineering within an industrial setting, with at least 15 years in a managerial role.

  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, tools, and maintenance practices.

  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.

  • Proficient in project management and budget administration.

  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.

  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.

  • Knowledge of safety regulations and practices in mechanical operations.
