What’s the Role?
As a System Engineer, you’ll be at the heart of this critical project, ensuring seamless integration, validation, and implementation of the ICSS (Integrated Control and Safety System). Here’s what you’ll do:
Engineering Development
- Ensure the ICSS vendor has access to all relevant and up-to-date documentation for system development.
- Oversee the design and engineering process to guarantee alignment with project specifications.
Vendor Coordination
- Act as the primary interface with the ICSS vendor, managing all technical and operational interactions.
- Monitor and ensure adherence to the delivery schedule, identifying and resolving potential roadblocks early.
Solution Validation
- Plan, oversee, and track all validation milestones, including document reviews, Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT).
- Ensure the solution meets all functional, safety, and performance requirements.
Site Preparation
- Proactively plan and coordinate any necessary site shutdowns to implement the ICSS solution with minimal disruption.
- Prepare the site for a seamless transition to the new system.
Training
- Identify training needs within the project scope, working closely with the ICSS vendor.
- Define, schedule, and oversee the delivery of all required training sessions to ensure teams are fully equipped to operate and maintain the system.
Continuous Improvement
- Analyze the project timeline to identify critical paths and potential risks.
- Develop and implement mitigation strategies to prevent delays and optimize project execution.
Education
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Automation, Industrial Electronics, or Industrial Computing.
Experience
- A minimum of 5 years in control systems engineering, preferably in FPSO or offshore environments.
- Hands-on expertise with Schneider Foxboro DCS and Triconex SIS is essential.
Technical Skills
- Proficient in DCS and SIS programming (IEC 61131-3) is a plus.
- Strong understanding of industrial communication protocols (Modbus,OPC, Ethernet).
- Solid knowledge of safety standards and redundant systems in offshore settings.
Soft Skills
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Organized and detail-oriented.
- Strong communication skills, able to collaborate effectively in multicultural teams.
- Willingness to travel and work offshore (BOSIET/OPITO certification is a plus).
