Job Description

• To provide proactive, first-class, business-minded legal advice to the Eastern Assets (Owerri Base Office) on matters relating to Lands Acquisitions, Third Parties Claims, Demand Notices, Litigations, HCDT Secretariat, Community issues, HSE issues, leases and rentals and to ensure strict compliance to all relevant laws, regulations and company’s policies and processes governing oil and gas operations.


• Provide strategic legal advisory services to the Eastern Assets (Owerri Base Office) in areas concerning decisions which would affect the integrity of the Company with both internal and external elements, strategic planning, business development and corporate governance.  

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Law (B. LL), Masters in Law is an added advantage.


• Minimum of 6 years Proven experience in Oil & Gas Industry with demonstrated ability to work in a complex function.


• Ability to navigate complex internal relationships (senior management) and challenging external ones (with stakeholders, the Government, law firms, Regulators, Host communities, etc., in Nigeria, the UK and across the globe). 


• Adequate grasp of financial principles, the oil and gas business in onshore Niger Delta and host community issues.
