About the role:




  • Maintain a database of all porridge mom beneficiaries and update regularly as needed;

  • Work closely with community structures to follow up on the implementation of the porridge mum (Infant Young Child Feeding (IYCF) activities, cooking demonstration, MUAC screening, hygiene promotion and complementary feeding with the support from the Nutrition and Health Officer;

  • Participate in sensitization meetings with vendors before each disbursement;

  • Oversee and maintain constructed porridge mom kitchens to ensure they are in good condition and used appropriately;

  • Ensure proper documentation of all activities and prepare/share monthly reports on porridge activities;

  • Prepare and submit weekly/monthly summaries of all nutrition information captured;

  • Organize and participate in community sensitization meetings including community entry meetings, feedback meetings with stakeholders, community nutrition mobilizers etc;

  • Support the development of banners and placement;

  • Participate in local coordination meetings as required.



Position Requirements:




  • Bachelor Degree in Public Health, Nutrition, Dietetics, Food Science & Nutrition, Nursing, Midwifery or other relevant qualifications with experience in Nutrition Programming;

  • Minimum of three (3) year experience in nutrition/health interventions;

  • Good report-writing skills;

  • Proficient in Microsoft tools like Word, Excel etc;

  • Fluent in written and spoken English and Hausa;

  • Good Communication and Interpersonal skills;

  • Ability to observe and to provide feedback on the activities;

  • Willingness and capacity to be flexible and accommodating when faced with difficult and frustrating working conditions;

  • Prepared to live and work in an uncertain security environment;

  • Commitment to and understanding of BOWDI's aims, values and principles.
