We are seeking a skilled and professional Accountant to join our organisation in Benin City, Nigeria. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with local regulations.




  • Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries

  • Prepare and analyse monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements

  • Reconcile bank statements and resolve any discrepancies

  • Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures

  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting

  • Participate in budgeting and forecasting processes

  • Ensure compliance with Nigerian tax laws and financial reporting requirements

  • Conduct regular internal audits to identify and address any financial discrepancies

  • Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support decision-making

  • Maintain accurate records and documentation for all financial transactions



Qualifications




  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

  • Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA) preferred

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in accounting or a related field

  • Proficiency in accounting software

  • Advanced Excel skills and strong mathematical aptitude

  • In-depth knowledge of financial reporting standards (IFRS)

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities

  • Effective time management and organisational skills

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities

  • Thorough understanding of Nigerian tax laws and local financial reporting requirements

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and ethical standards
