Job Summary




  • Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, the Human Resources Assistant is responsible for undertaking a wide range of support activities of HR tasks, like coordinating meetings, maintaining the employee database, posting job ads.

  • The incumbent will also act as the liaison between HR and employees.

  • The activities of the HR Assistant include; assisting with day to day operations of the HR functions and duties, providing clerical and administrative support to Human Resources projects, Compiling and updating employee records (hard and soft copies).



Job Responsibilities




  • Assist with day to day operations of the HR functions and duties.

  • Assist with all internal and external HR related inquiries or requests.

  • Provide clerical and administrative support to the Human Resources department.

  • Maintain both hard and digital copies of employees' records.

  • Process documentation and prepare reports relating to personnel activities (staffing, recruitment, training, grievances, performance evaluations, etc).

  • Coordinate HR projects (meetings, training, surveys, etc) and take minutes.

  • Deal with employee requests regarding human resources issues, rules, and regulations.

  • Investigate complaints brought forward by employees.

  • Assist in payroll preparation by providing relevant data (absences, bonus, leaves, etc)

  • Properly handle complaints and grievance procedures.

  • Schedule meetings, interviews, HR events and maintain agendas.

  • Conduct initial orientation to newly hired employees.

  • Update records of new staff.

  • Keep up-to-date with the latest HR trends and best practices.

  • Maintain official files and records.



Qualification / Skill set




  • BSc / BA in Business Administration or relevant field.

  • Proven experience as an HR Assistant or administrative position.

  • Understanding of general human resources policies and procedures.

  • Fast computer typing skills (MS Office, in particular).

  • Basic knowledge of labour laws.

  • Excellent organizational skills.

  • Strong communications skills.

  • Highly motivated team player willing to go the extra mile.

  • Aptitude in problem-solving.

  • Desire to work as a team with a result driven approach.
