Job Description




  • We are a corporate services firm that renders company secretarial/legal advisory/human resources & governance consulting services on an outsourced basis; looking to hire a smart and self-motivated lawyer who will join the team in providing qualitative and innovative services to our esteemed clients.

  • Our ideal candidate must be very confident, trustworthy, reliable, confident, and very well-organized with experience in company secretarial, human resources and legal advisory services.



Responsibilities




  • Draft and review a wide variety of legal agreements.

  • Provide legal advice/ opinion on corporate legal issues and business matters.

  • Prepare correspondence and legal documents such as contracts, pleadings, briefs, affidavits, motions, and settlement agreements for contract negotiations and proceedings.

  • Interpret laws, rulings, and regulations for individuals and businesses.

  • Provide the full spectrum of company secretarial services to external clients on an outsourced basis.

  • Ensure the proper safekeeping and update of the company registers, statutory books, and corporate seal.

  • Managing clients’ cases from start to finish.

  • Ensure clients’ adherence to extant laws and regulations.

  • Monitor the maintenance of the registers and other records required to be maintained and/or filed by the organization under the Companies and Allied Matters Act (CAMA 2020).

  • Draft guidelines, policies, and procedures documents.

  • Assess the company’s/clients’ corporate governance practices and provide advice on how to improve them.

  • Incorporate new businesses and develop the governance structures.

  • Assist in identifying, analysing, and evaluating legal risks and developing risk mitigation strategies to protect the company/client’s, assets, and stakeholders’ interests respectively.

  • Conduct land & title searches as well as perfection of title.



Requirements




  • Proven 3 - 6 years post NYSC experience.

  • A graduate degree in law from a reputable university (minimum of second class lower).

  • Member of the Nigerian Bar Association.

  • ICSAN Certification will be an added advantage.

  • CIPM Certification will be an added advantage.



Skills:




  • Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office applications especially Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills.

  • Keen attention to detail.

  • Strong knowledge of corporate/company & labour law.

  • Commitment and enthusiasm in the delivery of the organization's objectives.

  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion.

  • Advanced critical and legal reasoning skills.

  • Excellent problem-solving and teamwork abilities.

  • Excellent research and writing skills. A record of undertaking research and writing of papers, reports, and presentations would be an added advantage.

  • A keen sense of responsibility & ownership.
